I have a 2000 Lincoln LS (V8) that just refused to start one day. I have had a guy look at it and he tested the fuel pump relay switch and found out it was bad...so I replaced that. But he was still still stumped so he tested some other things and this is what he found out;
Check Engine light is on
Cams are turning
There is no intake vacuum (it seemed to be blowing air out instead of sucking in)
Fuel pressure fluctuates between 25 and 40 pounds
He reset the ECU
Has a brand new battery with secure connections.
He said maybe the timing is off or something, but isnt sure. He is saying if its the timing chain that I may just be better off getting an used engine...CANT AFFORD THAT. Any help or suggestions would be great.
