I have a 2000 Lincoln LS V6 Manual transmission, the brake lights are not working. I changed the brake light switch and it did not correct the problem. I took it to a Ford service center and the mechanic said it was the Processor Assembly Lighting. According to Ford this part (YW4z13c788DC) is obsolete they are not making them. My question is: will an Lincoln LS automatic transmission Processor Assembly Lighting be campatible or can they be fixed? Any information or surgestion you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Sincerely,
Everpr

There is no difference between manual or automatic transmission modules and are compatabile.

Did Ford service center offered to try to reprogram the REM?

You might be able to get the module fixed by someone with electronic repair skills.
