car is idling very rough

It just started this as the front pipe(exhaust) split wide open and obviously is leaking alot, could this be the cause?

RPM's are steady on the tach. just replaced wires and put in new OE plugs I gaped them at .32 as recommended.

A leaking exhaust can cause erratic idling but the exhaust splitting open could be due to material fatigue coupled with backfiring.

Have the leaking repaired and check for misfiring.
