2000 cherokee jeep sport.crank case breather oil leak

I have a continuous oil leak from what i think is what originally was filled with charcoal.There is a small pipe below and to the left of the starter motor,this is attached to the bottom of a plastic oem black cylinderwith 2 other pipes leading off from the top.One pipe leading to the back of the rocker box breather and one across to the air inlet to the turbo.
There is oil going into the turbo,burning oil.I took the round cylinder off and it was completely filled with oil.Upon looking at the pipe leading from below into the sump i presume,it also was full of oil,which did not drain away.Is there a sensor,NRV or something similar,could it be blocked.

check your pcv valve and whetehr or not the breather tube going to air intake is blocked.

Thankyou,there is no PCV fitted in the pipe entering the air filter pipe and all pipes are free from obstructions!

the pcv should go to vacuum like the intake not the air cleaner

Thanks .Ok,the intake pipe running from the air cleaner to the turbo,should have a branch pipe which leads to the black OEM black cylinder,to the left of the rocker box,yes? Ok in that pipe your saying that there should be a PCV immedietly after the the branch off?
With no PCV fitted this causes a vaccum from the intake sucking oil into the container from the crankcase/oil sump.??.
Why then have i been told there should not be a PCV fitted to my particular year and model,or is this not true!? I bought the Jeep without it fitted.Thanks.

these vehicles never came form teh factory with a turbo. you may not have apcv system like yousay or someone took it off. you will have to find out who the turbo system was made by and go to therewebsite to find proper routing then, if it all it uses a pcv. these only came stock with a 2.5L or 4.0 l engine in them. i'm sorry i didn't catch this to begin with.

Hey,thanks for your patience.This is a 2.5L Turbo from manufacture.If it helps here is my chassis number 1J4FFN8M3XL650280.I don't understand,yes i understand about vacuum principles,but i don't understand why also when i disconnect the junction mixer above the starter motor.The pipe leading down into the sump from the bottom of it.The oil does not drain back into the sump.Could that be because there is a slight pressure build up in the crank housing sufficient not to let it drain back?

i can fin d no information on any Turbocharged 2.5L engine from 1998 to 2002 if it is not draining to teh crankcase tehn it's eitehr blocked or you have apiston/ring problem and is pressurizing the cc to much or a pisont is broken. take a compression readin gof all cylinders wet and dry. if there is a variation of 20% then you have aproblem that needs to be looked into. this is not a stock Chrysler system.

Ok,many thanks.I will keep you informed.Firstly i will check the small pipe and the connection back into the sump.For your info,the jeep is European spec,2.5L turbo diesel.Once again many thanks for your help.

Sorry i forgot to add.The engine does not seem to lack performance despite the leak.
