The other day I drove over train tracks going at least 30 and my car got a little air time. After hitting the ground , the car started making a loud, trembling noise that almost sounded similar to a helicopter. Once I pulled over , there was red liquid leaking out of the bottom of my car and I was told that my pan gasket was really messed up after that. My question is if it's just the gasket so far , would that make the car make the noise that it did? The car turns on but does not switch gears.

The red liquid was transmission fluid. Don't start the engine until it's fixed. Now, was the pan damaged? Chances are it was, but let me know. Also, check to see if any of the pan bolts were broken.

Yeah, the pan was cracked and bent up pretty good. I'm just wondering if that could cause the car to sound like that? I'm really hoping it's just the pan that needs to be fixed instead of the transmission altogether

That's the cheapest place to start. Replace the pan, gasket, and filter. Refill the fluid with the proper type and see if it works. If you didn't try driving it without fluid for too long, it should be okay.
