The car lost power and engine noise began some say it sounds like a bad lifter, oil is good shows no signs of leaks and all maintenance has been kept up.

Is the check engine light On? What it means is the computer has stored an OBD2 codes and the only way to find out what's the problem within the engine management is to have it scanned for codes.
