I need to install new valve seals in a 2000 Honda Accord f23A1 16 valve head. I can't find a tool that will compress the springs in this head. No tool I have found will fit securely enough to compress the spring.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the proper tool needed to perform this job?

Are you trying to do this in the car?
That's probably a bad idea.

No, it's out of the car.

I assume you have the cams removed. Can't you use the old common tool? https://www.2carpros.com/images/external/4572_1671_0.jpg

Well, that looks a lot different than the one at the local auto parts rent-a-tool. This is a SOHC head. The valve cage and cam are out. But, there is very little room to grab the springs at the proper angle. The rental tool is a "C" shape, but it won't angle enough to hold the valve and press the spring without leveraging against the edge of the head (which I obviously don't want).

I'll look around for the tool you pictured. Thanks a bunch for your replies.

Just so I don't look too stupid......

It's the rocker cage that is removed, not the valve cage....lol

You have to remove any rockers before you can get at any valve springs.
