I recently replaced my ac compressor. To remove it, I had to disconnect the power steering pressure hose. While it was off, I made sure it was covered to prevent debris from entering the system. After the compressor was in, I reconnected the power steering pressure hose with a new seal. But when I was trying to bleed the power steering system, I noticed the steering never eased up. So I'm pretty sure the power steering pump has failed, even though I installed av new one about six months ago. Is there any reason for the power steering pump to fail from just disconnecting the pressure hose?

not really check to see if you have the proper fluid in the pump.if you do wha tis in pic thenyou have to apply vacuum to pump while running to get air out.
