i blew the power steering line would that effect my engine idle

when driving my car home after i lost power steering my idle seemed rough like it wanted to stall

The power steering system itself would not affect the engine but if the pressure hose breaks and hydraulic fluids are splashed onto the ignition system, it can result in misfiring and the symptoms described.

If the cause of loss of power steering is due to a seized power steering pump, it would cause the symptoms described as well.
