2000 Ford Contour starter

I'd remove the starter. The positive battery cable should lead to your starter. Take the negative battery cable loose. Remove the air breather and holding bracket. With manual tranny, the shift cable and or bracket may have to be repositioned/removed. There are fuel lines that may be in the way, may have to be repositioned. Take wiring loose from starter solenoid, remove starter bolts and any starter holding bracket, where applicable.
