I have a 2000 Dodge Durngo. My air conditioner bearing overheated. Can I bypass the airconditioner and do a different belt?

Alright you have the 5.2L engine so next time you know. You have two choices they list a belt without a/c so you can buy the belt see if it fits and routes good around all the pulley's.If it does great if not you can return the belt.Your next option other then replacing the compressor would be to remove the old compressor and install a a/c compressor bypass pulley in it's place and use the same size belt you have now. They make a bypass pulley for that engine i checked.Let me know what you find.

I got the belt and have a mechanic coming today to install it. I had nightmares all night thinking I had the wrong width belt. Will let you know if it works.

Got the belt that you gave me the number but it was the same as the original. Took it back and got an 81 inch and bypassed the airconditioner. So far so good. Thanks for your help.
