Squeaking Noise

I just bought a 2000 Dodge Caravan, when I drove it today, I had to take a back road with a lot of water on it. Well after I got off that road I noticed that there was a squeaking noise, it does not go away, when I idle it idles, when I accelerate it does too! So I just thought that is was caused from a belt being wet, well it has been sitting for almost 9 hours and it is still squeaking, what should I do about this?

SOUNDS LIKE DESPITE SITTING,YOU STILL HAVE A WET BELT.THE BELT ON YOUR VAN IS EXPOSED TO ALL KINDS OF WEATHER BECAUSE OF IT'S POSITION.DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE BUT COULD BE ICE BUILD UP OR MUD AROUND THE POWER STEERING PUMP.LOOK AT THE PASSENGER SIDE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIREWALL I BET YOU'RE GIONG TO FIND ONE OR THE OTHER.IF NOT CHECK THE BELT TENSION AND ADJUST IF NECESSARY.

Thanks Raymond I will check into that because it is still squeaking after 24 hours I am thinking it is more to do with the tension of the belt, but who knows it could be mud or ice, however, it wasnt that cold for ice these last 2 days.

Keep in mind, the belt colud be worn (dry) that can cause it to make noise or you could have a worn tensionier.
