door chime keeps going off and showing the hatch is open when its not?

It sounds like the latch is bad which has the switch inside of it.

their is a switch on the lock assy. that controls the light. someone may have used a slim jim to try to get in the car and has broken it off. you need to remove the door panel and inspect the lock assy. for a broken door ajar switch at the lock assy.the switch is black and has only 1 bolt hole in it and maybe hanging down or in the bottom of the door. it has 2 wires going to it.
