My car has no brake lights. Took it to a mechanic he said to replace brake light sockets.
My boyfriend bought some brake light sockets from junk yard. Cut the old one off, put the one from the junk yard on, disconnected the battery first before he did this, Now my car will not even start and still no brake lights. The headlights and interior lights work but radio and gages don't and when u try to start it, it does nothing not even a sound like its trying JUST SILENCE!!!! Some plz help!!! IS it bad sockets he put in? Or is it he hooked something wrong? What? My car had NO problems starting before this other than no brake lights. Plz contact me at [email protected] if you think u can help. Thanks!

You don't have to disconnect the battery to replace light bulb sockets, but since he did, there's a good chance some fuses blew. That commonly happens on any car from the current surges when the battery is reconnected. Check for blown fuses inside the car and under the hood.

As for the brake lights, if the center one also doesn't work, suspect the brake light switch.
