h/brake problem is very common in this car !

the back plates wears out and the h/brake becomes loose,

maybe the problem is where the end of handbrake cable sits in the back plate, the spot either bends-out or becomes holed, the garage would either do electric welding to form the shape back, or just hammer it back into shape,

electric welding only lasted 1 year when i tried it, better to get replacement from scrap, some scrap dealers wont sell unless you but the whole rear axle.
