Hello,i have a Chrysler Concorde with a 2.7 engine.I replaced this engine afew months ago because i experienced the exact problem.The problem is the engine has a bad top end tapping,which sounds like no oil is pumping through some of the lifters. It started out doing it off and on with a light tapping and go away. NOW, IT'S all the time.(Do you think it may be the knock sensor?)

no, most likely a valve lifter or oil pressure issue.

Used motor.I replaced eight valve lifters in the previous motor that i replaced.I first soaked the eight new valve lifers in oil for 48 hrs., before i installed them.I replaced four on each head toward the front of the motor where the tapping sounded to be,hopping that would fix the problem.STARTED the motor and it sounded worse.So i installed the used motor i purchased which only had a 30 day warranty,that was expired by that time i decided to install it.Fired it up and it had a lite off &on tapping.Drove it for appox. two months and it started tapping bad .
How do i check to see if the motor is getting the correct oil pressure? If the oil pressure is good,whats my next step?
Thank you;
