2000 chrysler cirrus rattles in passenger side rear. What could it be? exhaust seems tight. wondering if it could be suspension

sounds like a reasonable assumption. you should get it looked at and estimated.

First check for a broken anti-sway bar link and a loose wheel center cap if it has one. Struts can cause a rattle too but it's more of a thumping sound, not a metallic sound.
