do you mean heater core? is yours leaking or plugged?

no its removed from under the right side of the dash

in answering your question, yes, the ac has to be evacuated. i would get a shop to recover it for you and then return to them to charge it when you are done.

ive been replacing heater cores 20 years and i never evacuated the a/c.the a/c and heater work off different cores??????
