noise from the left side of the dash

Car is making a crackling noise from the left side of the dash when started and when you give it gas the car turns off. Also after car is off and key is out the lights and fan still run?

Never had any trouble with the car before..a few O2 censor issues but nothing major. I think that means that its an electrical issue but i am not sure?

Check to see if you can find where it is coming from. There are relays under there that you may hear a clicking coming from.

Thanks for your quick response cause I am freaking out...its coming from the left side of the steering wheel...now it is smoking from the glovebox! I had disconnected the battery so that the fan and lights would go off and now when I reconnected it and it started smoking from the glovebox!

At this point, I recommend having a tech look at it. Something has shorted and can cause a fire.

Ok thanks again...I am thinking its a mouse that has gotten stuck and chewed some wires...my Mom had some mice nesting in her engine last year. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

That is a very strong possibility!!! They eat the insulation from the wiring. Be careful and you have a great Thanksgiving too.
