Do you hear the fuel pump come on for a few secs?

FP Relay is in the underhood fuse block-you can test the coil and the switch side of the relay with a multimeter or try swapping it with a like one and see what happens. If the fuel pump relay checks out-have the fuel pump control circuit checked and tested

we have had a lot of people look at it and they get down under the van and they tell us to turn the key on and they don't hear anything from the fuel pump and it can't be the fuel pump cuz i went across the street to les schewb and they charged the battry for an hour and a half and i brought it back and put it in and it started and it run that day and my family and i went all over town and then we went to garage sell and it was on a step hill and then it wouldn't start. some of the people i know said it can't be the fuel pump it could be the alinater or something

I would still do the testing Raz suggested as it still may be a fuel pump failing intermittently. a pressure test will verify when it wont start.

sure can. dirt in the tank is the most common reason for failure.

get it checked to confirm.

oh okay could it just be clogged or something....my father-in-law told me yesterday to go out today and go to the fuel filter and take the line that goes from the tank to the fuel filter and take one side off and turn it on and see if fuel comes out.

how long do the fuel pumps last and do u have to put in a new one or can u use and old one

never use a junkyard unit.

can fail at anytime.

debris gets into the motor and locks up the pump. you cannot diasassemble the pump to clean as it is a sealed unit.

be carefull with pulling off the line. i would rent a pressure tester to test.

you rent it at a parts store and connect it to the fuel rail. remove the engine cover inside the van and the acess port is there.

maybe you better let someone perform this operation for you as you do not know what you are looking at.

the engine cover is insdie the van in the middle under the dash. it must be removed to acess the engine bay area.
