Couple of weeks ago,my car started shifting late from first to second,the rpm needle goes up to 3,000 while the speedometer at 25 mph. that is if I baby the gas pedal, but if i push the pedal hard my rpm gets up to 4,000 before engaging second gear.
This is the trick I normally use if I wanted it to shift earlier before 3,000 rpm let's say at 2,500, I release the pedal slightly then it will shift to second gear but this is frustrating usually when taking off from a complete stop.
Now these are what we've done trying to fix the car: We changed transmission fluid and changed valve body yet no success. A friend asked me to adjust the TPS and kick down cable but unfortunately my TPS can't be adjusted. What I did was to unplug the TPS and drive the car, this time, the car shift fine I drove it for two days without the TPS. On my way from work the third day, she refused to shift out of first gear so I plugged back the TPS then it started shifting at higher rpm again. Please can someone help me out of this?
