Traction Control

I have traction control on my 2000 Caddy Eldorado etc. What does this actually do? Should it always be on and what reason or instance would come up where as I would turn it off ... or back on ?

That is an automatic system that will apply brake to any wheel that has no traction when accelerating which will transfer the torque to the wheel that does have traction. It should remain on at all times. The shutoff would only be needed to run the car with the wheels in the air for repair.

when the car is operationing it keeps the wheels from spinning and directs power to the other wheel.when it off you can make the front tires spin then with it on you cant. its for use in snow,rain,bad road conditions.
