cooling fans wont come on

It sounds like you have a fuse or both motors are out. Here is a wiring diagram and some guides so you can do some checking to find out what's wrong.

Ah! yes I did some testing and I found a maxi fuse out in the underhood panel. As soon as I replaced it the fan started up. I will replace the fans becasue I think that why the fuse when out in the first place. Thanks for the diagrams they helped. This site rocks

what can cause my engine fan to stop working?

Run a scan and check for codes P0480 and 0481 these are for the cooling fan relays, start here.

Engine Cooling problem
1991 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 176000 miles

I just bought a 91 park ave and the cooling fan does not engage. i've tested the fan, both fuses, both relays and i changed the engine temp sensor but the fan still will not turn on.

check the coolant fan resistors, 2 of them both on front of engine compartment. if either or both have failed then fans will not come on. if fuses, relays and resistors are good and fan motors tested OK then either wiring or PCM is at fault.
