I have recently had 2 CV axles and a lower control arm assembly replaced on my 2000 Buick Lesabre. But tonight after driving about 30 miles on the expressway, I smelled rubber burning and suddenly I could hardly turn the steering wheel. The Check Charge System light came on, then the volt light. I made it the last 2 miles home - but when I turned the engine off I could hear a "clunk clunk" sound under the hood. What could be wrong? Could the other repairs have caused it? How to fix? What is the cost? Etc.

check yoru fan belt . your tensioner may have gone bad and your belt may have burnt up. If it's a belt there are belt diagrams on site here under diy section. if thetensioner is bad it's about $75 and a belt runs $40-60. Some of these are not to hard to put on so you may be able to put it on yourself.
