can I swap fuel pumps

Hi I have an audi a6 2.5 avant yr 2000 will a fuel pump from the same car yr 1999 fit? do the engine codes need to be the same? many thanks regards Joy

The pump alone should fit but the housing might be diffrent. You would need to remove the pump and transfer to your vehicle pump housing.
