I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat V6, and you have a choice to either shift automatically or manually, I think the transmission switch might be broken. First, is it supposed to change the look on the dashboard from P,R,N,D,4,2,1 to a gear 1,2,3,4, or 5, and second, how do you fix it?
