Hi, I have a code p1450. I grounded the control wire from the air pump relay and the air pump turned on and at the same time 2 vacuum air solenoids next to the ignition coil did not come on. What could this problem be? How do I test the wiring coming to these solenoids, are these solenoids using the same control source wire? I don't have a scanner to check these wires.

I also checked the air pump control relay wire coming from ECM to the relay and there is continuity.

I checked the solenoids hanging near the ignition coil with 12 volts and it clicks and I can blow air through it once I applied power and can't when voltage removed.

I like to know what to check first before replacing the ECM. If I replace the ECM, what equipment do I need to make the unit work and will the old key still start the engine if ECM replaced?

I posted the trouble tree for the code its for the air injection solenoid shorted to voltage.I know it says to plug in that special tool that's a breakout box for pin out testing of the ecm connector. You will need a multi meter to do some testing.

I measured resistance between pin 49 to pin 6 and I got infinite, and pin 49 to positive terminal also I got infinite as indicated in the troubleshooting. so what these values suggests? what is the next step? please keep posting. Thanks.

The first trouble I posted says if those readings are what you have to replace the SAI relay and if the code comes back to replace the ecm.

But wait...I put a ground on pin4 of the SAI relay and it works, does this means the SAI relay is good?

Honestly just because it may work when you test it doesn't mean it may work when the code sets. Before I replaced the ecm I would try to replace the relay first. If it were my car that's what I would do.
