1999 toyota camry V6 starts and runs for a few mins, then starts to miss. I pulled the spark plugs and notice that the left bank plugs were wet from fuel as if it were flooded. other side is ok. While running i noticed that unburnt fuel was leaking from the left bank exhaust flange gasket. Both O2 sensors have been changed. It runs smooth for the first 2 minutes, then the engine runs slightly rough and thats when i notice the unburn fuel seeping out of the flange gasket.. Could it be that the spark for that left bank is not firing, after a few minutes after starting? Im thinking that maybe the flange gasket will cause a defective reading by the O2 sensor that sends the signal back to the computer, that keeps the engine running rich on that bank? another possibility could be my fuel pressure regulator could not pass a vacuum hg test. i will be changing the fuel pressure regulator, and the exhaust flange gasket. If you have any other advise that could help, please feel free to assist me in the right direction..

FPR should hold vacumm, but it would affect both sides, check for spark on left bank. Also check fuses.

Yes my suspicion is that fuel injectors are leaking. I tested the FPR with vacuum a tester and it didn't hold hg vacuum so i replaced the FPR. But problems still exist. I suspect that maybe the injectors are defective or no spark to the left bank. It does run smooth on initial start up but when it reaches warm up temperature, the idle changes, and engine emits smoke thru the exhaust. I did check fuses and they are all good. Could the computer be at fault? Im also going to try and check the spark on the left bank.

Okay today i checked the injector and i notice that 1 injector did not click on the number one cylinder as the other 5 would. I will replace it and see if that will solve my problems.

Ok today i changed the Bad injector and my car runs normal again. Now i have another problem, my tackometer, and speedometer both dont function correctly. My automatic transmission also doesn't downshift on the initial takeoff starting in drive. Its starts off in Drive, but if i manually shift it from low, 2nd, then drive it works perfectly. Any idea on what it could be?

Thanks Docfixit, your parts location diagram will help me alot in locating parts.. and troubleshooting my problems. One other possibility that maybe the problem that i've resently found is that while playing around with some of the connections i noticed that on the ground terminal, while shaking it, stopped the engine from running.. I think that i may have faulty wire that possibly goes to the computer? I will try to repair the bad connection. Thank you again for your quick response.
