Car misses in the mornings...

This seems to be a problem with the ignition coil. Have the coil tested.

Do you know what the part number of the ignition coil for my car might be? I might go right ahead and order one and have it replaced without doing any tests.

I am a complete newbie with cars but would like to try and get this fixed by my self if I can.

Any idea why this happens in the mornings?

When engine is cold, fuel is richer which would be harder to ignite and weak sparks would tend to misfire. After warming up, the same sparks would be easier to ignite as fuesl is leaner and conditions are warmer.

Have the spark plugs and wires cheked out as well.

Our database does not have any information on the ignition coil specification so I am not able to provide you with the part number.

I figured out the Ignition Coil par number for my car and it's 90919-02216. Correct me if I am wrong, because my car is a six cylinder, there should be six of these in there right?

Anyways, I can only see two ignition coils and what I did is, I disconnected the cable to one and what happened is that the car started but turned itself off after like 5 seconds. How do I test which ignition is giving trouble? It's a VVT-i 2.5l Engine.

Yes, for 6 cylinders there shold be six if it is Direct Ignition System. Usually not all would be faulty. A resistance test of the coils might indicate which is faulty.

If you have spark plug wires to the spark plugs, it could be a 2 coil system. Each coil would supply 3 cylinders. You have to perform a resistance test on the ignition coil. Get the spark plug wires ohmed out as well.

Could you please tell me what the connector(s) in the pic are for (Marked in red arrows)?

The upper terminals are for power supply and signal from the Ignition Control Module and to tachometer.

The lower spout is for the distributor coil wire.

Our database does not have any information on your vehicle so I am not able to get any information for you regarding the dual coil system. Yours should be dual coil with distributor.

Yes, it definitely would cause misfiring but it would be rather consistent, not only when engine is cold.
