Transmission does not change out its gears?

My 99 automatic Suzuki jimny does not change out its gears wen ever it runs awhile and get hot its good early in the morning but as it runs it stop changing out and loses its power climbing small hills wat is causing that and what I may need to buy to repair it thanks

it sounds like trans is going into limp mode. check fluid level.

It sounds like the transmission can be going bad, I would check the condition of the fluid and if it is burnt I would change it out to see if it helps, here is a guide to help and instructions for your car in the images below.
