heat up of engine when a.c. is switched on.

i have a skoda felicia 1999 1.6 engine made in czech republic. i live in UAE and its really hot here. my problem with the car over the year has been that in the summer when i switch on a.c. the cars starts heating up. till thn it normally runs fine. i have fixed my engine once recently but i am afraid if this carries on i 'll have to go through that again. i have tried repairing it,spent alot, but in vain. someone suggested me to change the radiator. but will that help because i have cleaned it once or twice earlier. remains the same. till the time a.c. is not turned on it works well reasonably. i have never gone on longer routes in summer with that car. will u second replacing radiator or do u have better suggession?

IF THE RADIATOR WAS FLUSHED, THAT MAY NOT HAVE CLEANED IT ENOUGH

MANY TIMES DEPOSITS WILL NOT COME LOOSE UNLESS THE RADIATOR IS TAKEN APART, VATTED, RODDED, AND THEN REASSEMBLED....SOMETIMES REPLACEMENT IS THE BETTER CHOICE FOR AN AGING RADIATOR

A "CRUSTY" RADIATOR WILL NOT PROVIDE THE OPTIMUM COOLING ABILITY AS A CLEAN ONE.

INSURE YOUR FANS WORK WITH THE A/C RUNNING

MAKE SURE YOUR RADIATOR HOSES ARE NOT SU.CKING FLAT

IF YOUR THERMOSTAT IS REALLY OLD, THINK ABOUT IT ALSO...COULD BE IT'T NOT OPENING FULLY TO MEET FLOW DEMAND

i did do everything with the garage. it definitely had rust.did all by taking it apart and cleaned it thoroughly as u mentioned. btw the thermostat was removed earlier.radiator hoses are also doing good. now even after fixing all that it still has the same problem. should i change it from 2 to 3 hole radiator? what d u suggest.

You actually "Un-soldered" the radiator, removed the tanks, and rodded out each "Vane"?....In your garage?

yes CJ, i supervised the whole thing as they "un-soldered" the radiator. rodded out the vanes and kept rushing the water through those vane for quite sometime. and the whole thing was done at a garage specifically meant for cleaning radiators.

The more "Rows", the more the radiator can cool the coolant.

Your fan is coming on, when the A/C is turned on?

The fan is running during the "overheat"?

Do you, or the shop you visited have a Temperature gun, that you can check actual temperatures to see if it's actually too hot? (unsafe too hot)

well, the fan is running good. both the radiators and the a/c fan. checked it like 3-4 times at 3 different shops.and it is really too hot.while driving it i can feel the water boiling and just to confirm whether its the radiator water boiling i stop my car and check in to the hood to confirm. i had to change the gasket once.it costed me a lot though. and by rows u mean more number of pipes from the radiator.I am really bad with this.

I'm not real good with stuff that's out of the ordinary myself.

Last few things I can throw out to you...then I'm spent

Air in system, bleed air out?...some vehicles have this problem.

Radiator cap is not holding correct pressure?..Replace

Fans not working at all times, intermittent...bad relay, short etc

Worst case: Head gasket, Head problem....A pressure or chemical test may verify or eliminate this factor!

The people you have been dealing with...offered any suggestions?

If you tried to completely (temporarily) remove the thermostat, just for test purposes....does it/ will it still overheat?

The resources I have on my end do not include your vehicle.

Roger, on the "Rows", that does mean, MORE COOLING VANES!

I have seen other modifications on WW II Desert Willys Jeeps....Surely someone makes a Modern "Add On" kit for vehicles constantly in your climate

This is a 70 year old breakthrough, back then!...more searching may come up with more modern "Add On" remedies
