I have a 1999 Grand Prix. It is pouring out power steering fluid within 48 hours. The reservoir looks fine, it looks like it's just the hose. First of all is it a variable assist or not and how easy or not easy is it to replace this sucker. Never replaced one before, but i've done a ton of other work to cars in the past. As long as I have directions, I follow really well. Thank you.

I don't believe you have variable assist. As far as the hose, you have two, a return and a high pressure. Both bolt into place and are easy to replace. The worst part is routing them. If you have done other work, you should be fine.

After replacemnt, make sure to bleed the system. Safely lift and support the front of the vehicle. Fill the PS pump and turn all the way from left to right (engine off) several times. Do this until you no longer have to refill the PS pump.
