check trans fluid make sure it's full, have a trans guy scan it for codes although sounds like internal damage

I put a new transmission filter and gasket on and 4 quarts of fluid in it drove fine after that then the next day i crunk it up put it in drive but it wouldn't go it started rolling backwards on its own. HELP!!!

you'll probably have to pull the pan off again and see if the filter has come out of position or the Oring around it is leaking.
