as you can see in the pic you remove the coolant bottle for more room to work. you have to obtain a pulley removal tool to take pulley off pump. then you undo hose connections. then you take out bolts holding pump on.

and based on what you've said about pump, i dont know if changing it is guarantee of fixing the problem. worth a try though.
