Is replacing a knock sensor and an O2 sensor a difficult job on a 1999 Nissan Maxima?

Yes, it can be on a Nissan. The whole intake usually has to be removed.

If you have small hands, you might be able to get the sensor out without removing the intake, but is not easy. Removing the air cleaner hoses and throttle body would allow you to gain access.
