My van has been stalling when it heats up. I have changed everything the diagnostic test tells me by its code and they still come out. The engine turns on nice and smooth. When it warms up, it stalls driving at 30mph. I have changed the spark plugs, cable, rotor, distributor, air filter etc and it still stalls like its choking. Even without driving, only when it warms up it starts choking. My last thought would be the catalytic converter. I checked under and found 2 of them. Why does it have 2 of them? Can I eliminate one and just place one? Is it 2 because of CA state emission law? I live in the sate of MD. Thanks- J.B

Ok, Sounds like a plan. I will buy an ohn meter today and test it. Question, when you as does engine temp reach operating range, is that where it marks C********H like in the middle or in betwen the middle and cold? Also, when measuring it on 68 deg and 194 deg how do I know its under that deg to test it with the ohm meter? Thanks.

OK, first I pulled of the harness for the ECT sensor and the radiator fan went on going fast. I placed the harness back on the ECT sensor and the fan still kept going fast. I remembered I had boought long ago an ECT sensor but never installed. it. I insatlled it without checking the ohms, dont know if I did right. But, after installing the new ECT I had, the check engine light went with no reading codes at all. I checked the reading again with no check engine light on and it would come out P0443. The exhaust still sounded like it was choking. Should I still check the ohms even if I placed another ECT sensor? The p0443,Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Malfunction might be the problem? What should I do? Thanks!
