if the blend door is working, the control is working as it is changing from heat to cold.
what are the exact pressures for the ac??

the amount of freon has to exact. there may have been freon in the system and he overcharged it.
you need to start at basics. the fren needs to be removed, evacuated and recharged with the exact amount and we need to see the pressures
