I have a 99 mountaineer v8 5.0 and I have had it for 2 years and has always had a loud roaring sound from under it at 40-65 mph when accelerating and goes away when gas pedal is released at the same speeds and continues when gas pedal is reapplied, does not get louder when passing gear is applied just stays the same. I have already changed u joints on driveshaft and differential fluid is full so is trans fluid, noise doesnt affect driving but is getting to be annoying what could it be thanks.

could be the fan clutch locked up. could be a wheel bearing in the fron as well. get someone to drive with you to confirm.

Oh ok it could be a possibility but I hear it right under the front seats in the middle could it be tranny related but then again it shifts without a problem

once again, you need smeone to ride with you or take it for a ride to verify and identify the noise. diaging from here is almost impossible without us actually hearing it.
