My 99 cougar was built 7/99 does it have a fuel pressure regulator or sensor 2.5l engine

2.5L : To have a fuel pressure while key on engine off of 45-60psi it should have one -check on the fuel rail

Cars built after May 24, 1999 should have a rail pressure sensor and no regulator. They would use a Fuel Pump Driver Module that controls pressure with variable voltage.
