1999 Mazda 626 white smoke

i have checked for apparent water in cylinders and there doesnt seem too be...yet when i start the car a good amount of white smoke comes from the exhaust ...temp gauge doesnt work and trans needs servicing would this have anything to do with the white smoke

If the smoke is a tinge of blue (grey), that is oil being burnt in the cylinders an indication of worn valve seals. You should be missing some engine oil in between oil changes.

thankyou for ur reply im not seeing blue tinge of grey ..but if it is valve seals is that a major prob...anything else it could be

Replacing valve seals is quite a major job and there are many ways to go about depending on the type of engine you have.
