Why does it take a minute or two for auto trans to shift out of 1st gear on cold mornings?

Once it shifts into 2nd, everything is okay. Fluid is clean as I have regularly changed it using Toyota auto trans fluid.

-Check and test the coolant temperature and vehicle speed sensors if its within specs if okay have it further checked by a transmission specialist
