I have a 1999 Kia Sportage and there is a inside dash light that keeps coming on that says Hold. Could you please tell me what that means? Thanks

Hold is for the transmission. When you don't want the gears to up shift or down shift, pressing the hold button near the gear shift would engage that. If the light is not blinking, most probably you have mistakenly depressed the switch, ensure you don't have any water bottles etc that might do that.
If the light is blinking, a fault has been detected in the transmiission control system and you would need a scan tool to find out what sensor or circuit is causing the problem.
