Popping sound when you put in reverse like it is squaring in rear....drive and changes gear perfect. Smooth ride.what could be popping sound when putting in reverse

might be a bad u joint or a broken gear tooth in rear end.

the only thing that would be expensive to fix would be a chipped gear and sometimes they can be ground out of the way to not do that. it should be seen to actually check out what I've suggested.
