1999 jeep cherokee, steering wheel adjust up and down has lock in one place seem like a cable has come loose.is that a hard fix.

I THINK THEY MEAN THEIR "TILT" AIN'T WORKIN' RIGHT

THE "CABLE COME LOOSE" WAS A HYPOTHESIS ON IT'S INNER WORKINGS

What has happened is the tilt mechanism inside the steering column is broken allowing the steering wheel to move without restraint. Check out the instructions below on how to take the column apart so you can fix the problem. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
