My 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport has a hard time starting. The engine cranks and cranks and finally starts but stalls out immediately. After sitting in the car with my foot on the gas pedal for a few minutes (and the engine warms up a little) I can remove my foot from the gas. While driving home from CT to FL after the Christmas holiday the car broke down on I-95 about 60 miles from home. I was cruising along at 65 mph when the engine stalled as if I had run out of gas but the tank was nearly full. I thought it was a fuel pump problem but my mechanic said that I was not getting any spark. He replaced the crankshaft sensor, the ignition coil, and the distributor cap and rotor.
