I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport V6 4.0L 4x4 4 door. It is currently having issues with engine hesitation. When it idles it frequently drops below about 800rpm and stutters up and down...when it is in drive and when I accelerate it stutters and loses power and regains it a few times causing the tires to screech sometimes, it hesitates until you floor it, then it goes away, and if you keep on the acceleration for a minute it doesn't come back, until the next time you start it. I have noticed that it doesn't give me any problems if the engine is heated up to 210, but if it is cold it goes through this hesitation sequence. What may be the issue?

Any time there is an idle issue, I take the throttle-body off and clean it. Also, check the idle air system.
Po138-- 02 sensor, bank 1 sensor 2, voltage issue.
P0622-- generator field not switching like it should.
P0463-- fuel level sensor voltage issue.
P0455-- has to do with evap system leak.
P1687-- I did not find?

I cleaned everything and ended up changing the air filter and put new plugs and wires in it..the old plugs were gunked up and after replacing it worked fine..like a brand new car...it has been a day or two and now it is hesitating again before it is warmed up like before?

I am wondering if I may need a new ECM PCM computer for the vehicle top fix a lot of these issues?? I am stumped as to what else could be causing all of these problems...mainly the rough idle and engine hesitation?

Can you use a scanner that shows live engine data? You might erase codes and see what comes back.
