Why does my jaguar have 2 fuel pumps? ??
And why is one working and one not working??? I have replaced the one that was not working and still god new one is not working either. And help please. Thanks

Also forgot to mention that I had about 5psi of fuel pressure. This is supposedly with the 2 fuel pumps. I only replaced 1 pump. I dont understand why it still doesn't start.

it wont start because it has no fuel pressure. the other pump may have to go as well. then re check pressure.

Hi thanks for the help. But when I replaced one of the two new fuel pumps I turn the key on and then connected the battery and I held the fuel pump in my hand I heard and felt nothing with the new one
Which would also indicate that if I connected the fuel pressure gauge I still would.. have no fuel pressure. meanwhile the second fuel pump that was inside the tank at this time I could hear that when working. I don't know why one is working and white one is not working. also according to the specs there should be 43 PSI of fuel pressure but how is that separated between two fuel pumps is that the fight it by 2 because of the two of you pumps or what ?????? thanks for all the help

is the one you have an external pump or one from inside??? do you have 2 tanks???

Hi yes there are 2 pumps internally. Only 1 tank. Does anyone know why there are 2 pumps and what is the purpose??? Also how much fuel pressure should each pump should give off? ???
