the key access fell into cavity of tailgate and cannot retrieve so is there a way to get inside cavity of tail gate from inside of car. I need to open some how to get the round lock for key and repair.

you'll have to pull the panel off to get inside the gate it can be done but not easy

Thank you for response. I guess I can pull plastic panel on inside of rear door/window off with some difficulty and will be able to access the area inside to hopefully make it functional again.
