timing adjustment needed

How do you realine the timing on a 1999 exel twin cam and where are the timing marks

There is a notch on the crank shaft gear at #1 TDC this is at 12-00 O'clock there is also a notch on the timing gear & the tin backing plate, these need to be aligned up. I do not have a pic in the data base sorry.
