On testing my fuses, I took out the fuse relating to the air bag, the result is that the air bag warning light is on this was my fault because I had not turned off the ignition completely . On looking in the manual this will happen if you don't turn the ignition off. How can this be put right?

There are always two fused circuits for safety systems like anti-lock brakes and air bags so there is one to run the warning light if the other one blows. First try removing the second fuse. Leave them both out for at least one minute. Put them both back in, then turn on the ignition switch.

On some computers diagnostic fault codes can not be erased without a scanner. If the warning light doesn't turn off, you'll need to find a mechanic with a scanner that can access the air bag computer to erase the fault code. The light will be off once that is done.

It looks like I will have to find a scanner, because I cannot find a second fuse

The second circuit may be tied in to some other system with its own fuse. At the risk of causing other problems, you can just disconnect the negative cable from the battery. That will remove power to everything including the radio and Engine Computer.. Some cars have all kinds of dirty tricks built in to cost owners money when they unknowingly replace a bad battery. That can include radios and computers that have to be unlocked by the dealer, and they sure don't do that for free. Hyundai is one of the most customer-friendly manufacturers in the world so you are likely to have no trouble after reconnecting the battery, but I just want to warn of what can happen with some car brands.

I have removed the negative lead from the battery ,left it off all night but it did not solve the problem, looks like I have no alternative but to go to a Hyundai dealership.
